E-Commerce and Internet Technologies - Week 8
E-Commerce and Internet Technologies
E-Commerce allows a company to sell its goods and services through their website, which we like to call "online shopping". During the Covid 19 Pandemic a lot of company's had no choice but to sell their products and services online or else they wouldn't have survived. E-commerce systems allow company's like hairdressers, cafe, restaurants etc to have a booking system for their customers.
Today I will be reviewing 3 different online platforms that would be best suited and can be easily integrated into a website to help a business engage in e-commerce.
1. The first business I will review is a new Gym which will need a online website that show cases their facilities, allow existing or new customers to sign up or renew their membership, allows for non/gym members to book in for classes and signing up online, it gives the gym the option of going cashless as all payments and bookings could be done through online.
I think the best suited online platform for a gym is GLOFLO which is a gym management platform which allows to automate class schedules, bookings, payment collections and more. This system monitors the operational performance of the gym as well as leverages sales and marketing automation tools like lead capture and management, SMS, email campaigns and more. There are no set prices for GLOFOX as the system is tailored to each companies unique requirements.

2. The second business that I will review is a new clothing boutique, which will need a system that allows customers to online shop, choose between types of delivery, add discount, take payment etc.The system will also need to monitor stock levels in order for management to order need stock in.I think the best suited system to a clothing boutique is Shopify- Plus, which is a reliable platform when there is high traffic on the sight.
"We didnt want to be in the technology business. We wanted to worry about selling shoes and be great at what we're great at.That's what Shopify Plus empowers us to do" - Steve Madden
Here is Shopify Plus website , where you can find out more information and where you can get in touch with them with your website requirements and find out a price that suits your company

3.The last business that I will review is a cafe, which would need a booking system and showcase their menu, their suppliers, links to their social pages and photos of the cafe and the food. The systems I think would be best suited for a cafe is WIX, which allows them to build a website equipped with the business tools to help build your online platform. It has features for E commerce, branding, marketing and scheduling and much more.
Here is a link to WIX website where all additional information is available.
WIX has 4 plans, Light, Core,Business and Business Advance. All plans have different features , which start from €10 per month right up to €149 per month.
